Obituary of Benoit Alexander Comeault

Benoit (Ben) Comeault, age 93, of Dominion City, passed away peacefully at the Emerson Care Home on September 1st, 2017. Ben is survived by his wife of 68 years Gisele; his daughters, Paulette Comeault (Rod), Jeanne Hooper (Doug), Carole Gushuliak (Barry), Denise Pohl (Rick), his son Rene Comeault (Kathy); 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Louise Boutet (Mel), his son Marc Comeault and his 10 siblings.

Ben was a Christmas Eve baby, born in 1923, to parents Edmond and Rose Alma nee (Lemoine). He left school at an early age to work in the mines. He was then called to serve his country for 3 years in WWII where he lost his beloved brother Jules. Upon his return he became his own boss wih a short stint as a grain buyer and a 36 year career as a bulk dealer for McColl Frontenac which later became Texaco.

Ben was a huge sports enthusiast known for his intense competitive nature as a hockey and baseball player. He was extremely proud of all his families accomplishments and was the number one fan of the “Bengees” ball team.

A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 6, at St Joseph Roman Catholic Church with a reception and inurnment to follow in Letellier. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ben’s life.  Viewing will be held at Morris Funeral Home, Monday, September 4, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.

The family would like to thank the Emerson Care Home and Morris Funeral Home for their wonderful care.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the DC Rec.Inc. (DC Arena).
