Obituary of Henry (Heinrich) Wiebe

Heinrich (Henry) Wiebe passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 74.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, his children Leonard, Ernie (Amanda), Jaime (Dianne) and Sarah, as well as his 8 grandchildren.

He is pre-deceased by his parents Heinrich (1994) & Katharine (2010), his brother David (2004), and his sister Susanna (1963).

Henry was born in Mexico on September 28, 1943 and helped on the family farm with his brothers and sisters.

Henry married Esther Lozano on September 25, 1966 and ran a dairy and wheat farm with their 4 children. He loved horses and for a time being, he enjoyed owning a successful race horse. He also enjoyed music and played the guitar and the accordion when there was the opportunity to play at community dances.

In 1982, the family moved to Canada and settled permanently in Rosenort, Manitoba where Henry began his career welding – he worked at Haul-All for a few years and then worked at Midland Manufacturing until he retired.

Henry enjoyed the hobbies of fishing, hunting and archery.  He also took a lot of pride in his yard and was known for his obsession with keeping the best lawn in town!

During his battle with bladder cancer since February 2017, he found great comfort in the Lord.

In the midst our sorrow, we are filled with joy knowing that Henry is rejoicing in Heaven with Jesus.

He will be missed.

A funeral service will be held for Henry on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Rosenort Fellowship Chapel, 65 Frontage Road, Rosenort, Manitoba.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Cancer Care Manitoba or St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.
