Obituary of Cécile Lemoine

Cécile Lemoine Cécile Élise Marie Lemoine ~ (Née Buisson) December 21, 1941 – October 3, 2020 Peacefully, Cécile Lemoine, our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020, in the ICU unit of the Health Sciences Center at the age of 78. Cécile is survived by her husband, David, their three sons, Donald (Carole), René (Rachelle) and Marcel (Rachelle), grandchildren: Colin (Joanne), Alec (Haley), Liane (Shawn), Richard (Danielle), Rossel (Candace), Roxanne and Mia and great grandchild Valérie. She is also survived by her brother, Lucien Buisson Jr. (Denise) and their children Robert (Dayna) and Marc (Jennifer) as well as Yvette’s daughter Alice Roberts (Steve). Cécile is predeceased by her parents, Lucien Buisson Sr. and Cécilia Buisson (née Coté) and her sister Yvette Verhaeghe. Mom loved her husband David so much. They were made for each other. They loved the social events at the Chalet Oasis where they played shuffleboard and card games. They were to celebrate their sixtieth wedding anniversary on November 19, 2020. She will be immensely missed by him. She was the love of his life and his best friend. Mom loved to cook up a storm, sew and knit. She was very skilled at those things. She also loved to go camping. Mom absolutely loved to get Dad to hitch up that camper to the truck and head out to some campground somewhere in the province! As we all know, Mom had a great love for music, especially country music. Her legacy will live on as all her children and many of her grandchildren also love the genre, sing and play musical instruments. Mom could sit around the fire and listen to her children and grandchildren sing all night! Her favourite song of all time was, “Quand le soleil dit bonjour aux montagnes” by Lucille Starr, which we played for her in her last hours of life. Mom was involved in the Chalet St-Norbert community where she sat on the Chalet committee for a couple of years. She also took care of the bookings for Club Oasis and ran the Bingo event. Her highlight in life though, was to spend time with her grandchildren! She loved them all so much and they knew it, as she loved to spoil them! Mom also had the opportunity to meet and hold her very first great grandchild, Valérie. Oh, how sweet that moment was for her! Cécile was very much a people person and had connections with many, many people, young and old, on Facebook. She had the gift of meeting someone and in little time, she made them feel as if they were old friends from way back when! She will be dearly missed by many. You have been freed from your aching body Mom, so now you are free to fly. We love you and will miss you, oh so much! Love, your entire family and friends. A celebration of life for Cécile will be held at an undetermined time in the new year once we are once again able to reunite in larger numbers. The celebration of life will be held in Ste-Agathe as per Cécile’s wishes. The family wishes to thank Cécile’s friends at the Chalet St-Norbert who helped her and David out during those difficult last weeks. We also wish to thank the medical team at the Grace hospital and especially the Doctors and wonderful nurses in the ICU at the Health Sciences Center, who were so professional, empathetic and compassionate towards Cécile and her family members.
