Obituary of James Mazurski

Jim passed away suddenly October 18, 2020 at the Morris General Hospital at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife Rita (nee Walsh), daughter: Sandra Boily; five sons: Jamie, Michael, James (Jimmy), Richard Hamilton and Clyde (Nick); and several grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by one daughter Cathy. Jim was a hard working drywaller for his entire life. He passed his trade on to all of his sons. From 1990 to 2003, he and his wife Rita ran the Queens Hotel in Dominion City, Manitoba. Jim regaled you with tales of every building he worked on and would be sure to point each one out. Jim loved to putter around his workshop, constantly creating woodworking gems, especially for his beloved grandchildren. He had a green thumb and loved to garden. He loved showing off his plants and had a particular fondness for his successful orange tree experiment. He had a wonderful, dry sense of humour and always seemed ready with a witty retort. He enjoyed playing cards and if you let him, he would deny ever being skunked at crib. He loved fishing and going on road trips to visit family. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed. A celebration of his life will be held in spring or summer 2021, details to follow. The family wishes to thank the Emerson-Franklin Volunteer Fire Department, the paramedics, nurses and doctors at the Morris General Hospital. In Jim’s memory donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue.
