Obituary of Jeannette Coates

Jeannette Coates (nee Fillion) passed away peacefully in Morris with her daughters by her side on Nov 11, 2020 at the age of 86. She is survived by her children Gaylene (Leo), Jill (Denis), and Lynne (Darcy). Her grandchildren Derrick (Ashley), Melissa (Tyler), Patrick (Samantha), Shane, Megan , Kaitlyn, and great grand children Amelia, Rowyn and Harper. As well as her siblings Adele (Rheal), Rene (Marguerite), Claude, Aime, Jeannine, Louise, Guy (Lise), her brother-in-law Gordon (Ruth) and sister-in-law Shirley along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeannette was predeceased by her husband of 46 wonderful years Leslie Coates, son Bryan, and parents Celanire and Adelard Fillion. Mom was born on August 22, 1934 and was raised on the family farm near St. Jean Baptiste. She was a hard worker at an early age, helping out on the farm and always looking after her siblings. She went on to graduate from Marvel Beauty School and opened her hair salon in Morris. She loved her work and made many life-long friends along the way. Mom had a great sense of humour and a very kind heart. At home our door was always open and she welcomed everyone with a smile and her generosity. She was always busy whether it was gardening, crocheting, playing cards, reading, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mom will be greatly missed by countless friends and family members who were blessed to know and love her. We would like to thank Dr Fraser and the staff at Red River Valley Lodge for the kindness and care they gave her over the years. A private service will be held at a later date.
