Obituary of Margaret Friesen

MARGARET FRIESEN (NEE WIEBE) was born on April 2, 1925 at home in the Rural Municipality of Morris (Lowe Farm) and passed away peacefully on April 3, 2021 at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris, Manitoba at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her loving nephew, Gary Friesen and his wife Rowena of Morris, MB., who have been Margaret’s caregivers for many years and whom she often referred to as her “children” and their family. She is also survived by her sisters, Anne Kushnir of Winnipeg, MB. And Sara Friesen of Steinbach, MB., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Abraham S Wiebe and Elizabeth Wiebe (nee Marten) two brothers, Erdman Wiebe and Ben Wiebe and three sisters, Lena Trindall, Mary Martin and Tina Klassen as well as brothers in law, Harold, Fred, Andy, Paul, David and and sister-in-law, Margaret. Margaret loved gardening and always took great pride in her flower garden. She always said the flowers grow better when you talk to them. She was especially proud the year that her flower garden at the Morris Manor won first prize. A private family funeral service was held on Tuesday April 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Morris Funeral Home with internment at the Kronsweide cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Manness and all the staff at the Red River Valley Lodge for their kind and compassionate care given to Margaret over the years.
