Hilda & Family: So sorry to hear of Herb's passing - still so young. It was a lovely service. I am happy that it is still available for viewing. It will be comforting to you in days, weeks, months to come. Good memories seeing the pictures. I even recognized one of the bridesmaids! May God be your ever-present companion. Herb told me once that he thought whenever he went to a comedy club or dinner theatre he was always picked on by the cast members because he had a bald head. I think they could simply tell he was a good guy with a great sense of humour as soon as they spotted him. These photos are “proof in the pudding”! ❤️Cathy and John

Herb will surely be missed by many, Cathy and myself included. Herb always showed a genuine interest in our lives, right from day one.
When I was a teenager I loved spending my summer holidays on Herb’s farm. Herb taught me so much about mixed farming, including animal husbandry, how to drive a tractor, how to drive a standard transmission, how to mend a fence, etc. I always enjoyed having lunch out on the field, in the shade of the combine, with him and my sister Hilda. For a city boy, this was truly magical.
Herb always had an unbelievable amount of patience with me. Even when I backed his three ton grain truck right smack dab into the middle of the driver’s door of his one ton truck (which was literally the only stationary object on an entire 160 acre field) he never got angry with me.
My exposure to Herb’s way of rural life helped me form a true love and respect for farming and the importance of being a good steward of the land.
If I had to choose one single word to describe my dear brother in law, it would be “Mensch”. Herb, you were truly a Mensch. I’m gonna miss you, man!
May you Rest In Peace Herb, and may you always tend to that perfect hobby farm in Heaven that you so much deserve.
