In the early evening of May 14th, 2021 Durwin Clifford Riehl of Roland, Manitoba passed away quietly with family by his side. The former resident of Morris and Carman was born in the Dauphin Manitoba area in 1926. It was there that he began his lifelong career as a meat cutter at the age of 14 helping with Bison from Riding Mountain National Park.
“Cliff” was born into a family with a long tradition of raising and racing Standardbred horses. Till the time of his passing he was at the barn every day participating in his passion of being around the horses.
Durwin will be remembered for his independence and self reliance. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all those who made it possible for Cliff to maintain the activities that brought him the most joy in life.
So fill to me the parting glass And drink a health whate’er befalls Then gently rise and softly call Good night and joy be to you all
Internment will occur at a later date
