Obituary of Gustina Chubaty
It is with heavy and broken hearts we announce the passing of Jessie (Gustina) Chubaty. Jessie passed away peacefully in her own home on January 11, 2022, surrounded by her family, after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Jessie will be greatly missed by her 4 children, Rebecca, Victoria, Vanessa, and Phillip; her mother Margaret; siblings, Jake (Margaret), Katherine (Frank), Abe, Ernie (Linda), Nick (Mary) and Sara, many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly. Jessie was predeceased by her two brothers, John (1989) and Pete (2011); and her father Jake (2009).
Jessie raised 4 healthy children on the farm, just outside of Ridgeville. She had a large, beautiful garden and a yard filled with flowers. Jessie worked in the Emerson Health Center for over 20 years and made many life-long friendships along the way, which she cherished so much. After finding her home in Emerson, she met her partner Ron, who was a perfect, unwavering companion. Jessie always had a love for gardening, plants, canning, and making delicious treats in the kitchen. She always wanted to be out in the sun, reading and loved fishing. She was a sounding board and someone to lean on for a lot of people and loved by so many.
We are extremely grateful for the many friends and family who supported us over these last few months. It truly takes an army to care for someone and Jessie had a strong, amazing army. All the help, big or small, did not go unnoticed. Thank you to the Southern Health Palliative team, with a special note to Shannon, the palliative care nurse, who helped us make this a beautiful chapter in our mom’s life.
Due to the current pandemic restrictions a celebration of life will be held in Emerson in summer of 2022, so all family and friends can celebrate her amazing life.
In lieu of flowers presently, flowers would be welcomed at the celebration of life in the summer, or a donation made to a charity of personal preference.
