She is also survived by 2 sisters, Alice Cornelson and Erna (Walter) Peters; one brother, Eddie Hildebrand; brother-in-law Abe (Betty) Reimer, sister in-laws; Helen Bergen and Mary Ann Hildebrand. She was predeceased by her parents Abram and Frida Hildebrand; two brothers, Hugo and Vern; one sister, Helen Reimer; brother-in-law, Ed Cornelson, and sister-in-law, Kathy Hildebrand. Frieda was born to Abram and Frieda Hildebrand of Mather MB, on August 1, 1944. Frieda had a carefree and happy childhood and ended her high school education at the MCI in Gretna. She was baptized upon the confession of her faith in Jesus at the age of 18 in the Mather church. She went on to Elim Bible school and then to the Manitoba Teachers’ College to receive her teaching certificate in Winnipeg. Her first two years of teaching were in Boissevain, MB and she then moved to Steinbach to continue her career. After teaching there for a few years, she accepted a two-year commitment to teach in Hopedale, Labrador under the MCC voluntary teaching program, after which she came back to teach at Steinbach Woodlawn School until 1975.By then, she had many friends with whom she enjoyed her early adult life and was always on the go. She enjoyed her teaching, travelling and friendships On December 28, 1974 she married the love of her life, Alvin of Rosenort and changed her career to being a farmer’s wife. She was a wonderful mother to her children, and later, a devoted grandma that was willing to drop everything to help look after her precious grandchildren. She took great interest in the social activities of first her children and then grandchildren. She rarely missed a sports event where they played. As her children got older, she went back to teaching as a Substitute Teacher and worked as an Educational Assistant. She was always involved in many church related positions such as Sunday school, Ladies Fellowship, Cheer committee, and Cradle Roll. Her life was a life of service. Frieda enjoyed many vacations along with Alvin and her family to Mexico, Cuba and many of the Southern states. Her journey with dementia began twelve years ago and she very slowly lost her ability to communicate. Her memory may have failed, but not her joy in Christ. She smiled to the end without complaining and her friendly nature stayed with her to the end. Alvin and Frieda had a good life of 47 years together. Praise the Lord!
