Obituary of Yvette Fillion

Peacefully with her family by her side Yvette Fillion (née Houle) passed away on July 2, 2022 at the Morris Hospital at the age of 100. She is predeceased by her loving husband Arthur Xavier Fillion (Charlie). Left to cherish memories and celebrate her life are Jean-Paul (Sam-ang) (Annette) Fillion , Claudette (Raymond) Philippe, Jaqueline (Alfred) Théroux, Louise (Paul) Daneault, Mona (Jim) Fillion Wiebe, Mitch (Mae Marie) Fillion and families as well as 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and family and friends. Yvette was born and raised in Letellier and after her wedding moved to St. Jean-Baptiste where she lived her life. Her passions in life were her family and friends, gardening, sewing and celebrating life’s events with family and friends. Many many times she would be seen with her hands crossed praying for her loved ones and for world peace. What a gift we had when we could call her to pray for us when we had exams, were ill or any other occasion. She would light up her candle and ask God to watch over us. Yvette will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, her sense of humor, her willingness to help others, her tender hugs and her joie de vivre. Funeral mass will be held on Monday July 11 at 2:00 pm at the St. Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the compassionate staff at the Morris Hospital. In lieu of flowers please consider a simple “hello” and nice smile when meeting people and think of Yvette when doing so. Au lieu des fleurs veuillez considérer un simple “bonjour” et un beau sourire en rencontrant d’autres personnes et pensez a Yvette quand vous le faites.
