Obituary of Bertrand LeFloch

It is with great sadness we announce that Bert passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023 surrounded by his family at the Boundary Trails Hospital at the age of 84 years. He will be remembered by his wife Sharon of 60 years, their three children: son Gerald and wife Diane (Corey), son David and wife Tammy (Luke, Melissa & fiancé Steve, Emilie and Charlie), daughter Gail and fiancé Ward. Dad was born on October 20, 1938 in St. Claude, MB the 2nd oldest of 13 children of Louis and Irene LeFloch. He married Sharon on October 27, 1962 and started their family in St. Claude when Gerald was born in June 1964. They then moved to Winnipeg and David was born in April 1966, and then Gail in April 1967. After a few years they bought their home in East Kildonan to raise their family and resided there for almost 35 years. After retiring, they moved back to the country and enjoyed many good times in Haywood and Elm Creek with family and friends and then finally settled in St. Jean-Baptiste until his passing. He worked hard all his life starting with CN when he was a young man, then working at 7-UP, Pic-a-Pop, The Pop Shoppe, Versatile, and working in construction and doing snow removal. Bert loved to garden and had a real green thumb. He always had plenty of vegetables to share with everyone. He was a Scout Leader for many years and made some good friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, reading and most of all farming. Going for a drive to see what was happening on the farms and in the fields was his favourite pastime. Bert and Sharon enjoyed traveling to Europe, Panama, Cuba, Dominican Republic and throughout Canada and the US over the years. He always enjoyed visiting with friends and family and especially spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved so much. He was predeceased by his parents Louis and Irene, sister Lucille, brothers Normand, Ron, Aime, and Bobby as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law and extended family members. The family wishes to thank the staff at Boundary Trails, Morris, HSC, and St. Boniface Hospital, the home care workers, as well as Dr. Amrit Malik and Dr. Kamal Gupta for their care and compassion over the last few years. A private family service will be held at a later date.
