Don was an exemplary human being and one of the kindest gentleman I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He always greeted me with a firm handshake and a smile. His humorous side was infectious and it will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to the family and many friends. HAB Hugh Benham

Don was my neighbour and the hardest working man in the neighbourhood. He bought an empty property and constructed a new home from scratch and completed landscaping by himself. All done while working a full time job at the commodity exchange.
I am sorry to hear that he is gone. I know he will be missed by his family and friends.

I want to send my heartfelt condolences from myself, my daughter, Peyton my partner James, my Mother Lucille, my father, Maurice (Moe) who passed away, and our four legged family members.
We came to know Don (Donny) via our cousin Peter Kozak as he was willing and able to do a major renovation at my parents’ home to accommodate my daughter and I. He always showed up with humility and kindness, and took time to chat and spend time with each of us. He had a way with people that is gift. He was humble and humourous, his work was meticulous and beautiful. He took pride and care in all that he did.
Today that I am heartbroken for you all is an understatement- I was at a loss for words when my Mom shared the news I am writing this because I want you to know that we are honoured to have been in his circle, to have time with him, and to be be reminded to love those around us. He was also a private man, and although he did speak of his family, he did so as to not overshare.
We will miss him immensely. God speed to a man who has left a legacy with those whose hearts’ he has touched. Know you will be missed.

What a lovely picture of Don and that is how we will choose to remember him. He always had that mischievous grin knowing that he would play a trick on you if he could. Our family all have fond memories of him through the years, Bev was a teacher and coach to him and did carpentry work on our first house. He was a great friend and we will treasure the memories of past fun times together. Rest easy good friend. Sympathy to Barb and family and daughter Tammy & (Kelly) Gregoire and family.

So sad to hear this. Don was a neighbour for many years when I lived in DC and he was always there when we needed a hand. Always had a smile and a kind word. Condolences to all of Dons family and friends.

This is incredibly sad. Don is one of the best people I have ever met. His humour was off the charts funny. Loved our past curling games and the banter that took place upstairs afterwards. RIP Bill. Caw Caw Caw!!
