Obituary of Mary Johanna Paetkau

Peacefully Mary Johanna Paetkau passed away September 2, 2024 at the Red River Valley Lodge at the age of 82 years. Johanna is survived by her four nieces and two nephews and their families. As well as various cousins and their families. Johanna was predeceased by her parents Abram and Lena Paetkau, her brother Peter, her sister Judy, and her sister-in-law Maryanne. Johanna was very involved in church life. She was proud of the fact that in her career as a Sunday School Teacher, she had taught generations of kids. She also acted as Caretaker with her side kick Anne. She loved flowers, her beds and pots were filled with every color of the rainbow. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Lowe Farm Bergthaler Mennonite Church. Interment will take place at the Lowe Farm Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Church prior to the funeral service. The family wishes to thank the Red River Valley Lodge and their awesome staff for the care she received. Also thank you to Joan Van der Linde for answering the call in our time of need. Donations in memory of Johanna may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
