Obituary of Robert Alfred Poersch

Peacefully at home in his favorite chair, our beloved brother, uncle, father, grandfather and great grandfather “Bob” passed away May 9, 2017 at the age of 87 years and nine months.

Bob is survived by his brother Lloyd of Morris, sister Edith Neumann of Winnipeg, numerous nieces and nephews; also from his marriage to Beth Gray, stepdaughter Susan (Gerry) Lamotte, stepsons: Allan and Kelly Gray; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law Frank Allan, David Booth, Don Lyndsay and sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Jim Wilson.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Frieda and William, wife Beth (Gray), sisters: Margaret Ukrainec and Irene Johnson; brothers: Gordon, Herb, Norman and Richard.

Bob was a kind, loving, generous man, who was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends.  He farmed for many years on the family farm near Rosenort with his brothers and retired in 1988.  He loved fishing and hunting with his brothers.  He and his brothers spent countless hours volunteering with the Morris Ag Society and caring for the Leabank cemetery; anywhere he was needed he would help out.  He was a world traveler and visited many countries with family and friends.  He married Beth, his wife of 21 years, in 1980.  They enjoyed many family gatherings, traveling, gardening, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral service for Bob will be held Monday, May 15, 2017 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brunkild, Manitoba at 1:30pm.  Viewing will be held at Morris Funeral Home, Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm and at the church prior to the service.  Burial will take place at the Leabank cemetery.

In memory of Bob donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba and/or the Diabetes Association.
