Abram Harder

Obituary of Abram H. Harder

On Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Morris General Hospital, our Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Friend, Abram H. Harder, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 1/2.   He is survived by his daughter Doreen (Luc), granddaughters Paula (Alan), Carmelle and Raena, and great grandson Kyle.  Abe is also survived by his sisters, Tina, Suzie, Sadie and Mary.  Abe was predeceased by his parents Abram & Bethy, loving wife Nettie, and daughters Betty Ann and Louise, as well as siblings Pete, John, Margaret and Helen.

Abe lived most of his life in Lowe Farm, Manitoba where he met the love of his life, Nettie Klassen.  They raised three beautiful daughters, Betty Ann, Doreen and Louise.  He worked as a mechanic for many years and later as an equipment operator for the RM of Morris until retirement at age 65.  After retirement, he spent many hours in his garage repairing lawn mowers until the age of 80.  For the past 13 years, after his wife Nettie passed, Abe lived in the Lowe Farm Apartments across the street from his daughter Doreen.  He enjoyed cooking meals, hams, chickens and sometimes just a few fried eggs (usually in the middle of the night because he couldn't sleep), visiting with family and friends, and getting together with others over a game of 5000.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Lowe Farm Bergthaler Church at 11:00am.  Viewing will take place prior to the funeral service.  Burial will take place in the Lowe Farm Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Manness and the staff at the Morris General Hospital.  They took such great care of him and we really appreciate that.
