He is also survived by brothers Menno, Ed, Peter, Lorne, and Ron and sisters Elsie, Martha and Erna, their spouses, nieces and nephews as well as numerous other relatives. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Annie Kroeker, his infant brother Willy, sister Mary and his brother Jake in 2013 as well as his parents-in-law, John and Aganetha Warkentin. Henry was an adventurer and loved people. In his life time, he wore many hats which included farming, co-owning and managing the Macleod’s store in Morris, selling real estate, custom harvesting and later in life delivering equipment and motorhomes with Mom to destinations all over Canada and the USA. This resulted in him knowing people and having friends everywhere. He married Eva Warkentin on November 28, 1954 and the adventures continued together for the next 61 plus years. They raised six children; living in Morris and Rosenort, and on the same family farm where he grew up with his ten brothers and sisters near Rosenort, Manitoba. Henry and Eva were charter members of the Morris Fellowship Chapel and Henry was the president and a member of the Morris chapter of the Christian Business Men’s Association. He also enjoyed serving as the Mennonite Disaster Service delegate for the Evangelical Mennonite Conference for many years. A public viewing was held on Saturday, April 16th, 6:00p.m at the Morris Fellowship Chapel in Morris, Manitoba. A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 17th, 2:30 p.m. at the Morris Fellowship Chapel with Pastor Ward Parkinson officiating. Henry was laid to rest in a private ceremony prior to the service. Henry lived life to the fullest and was a missionary wherever he went. He would literally give the clothes off his back to whoever needed it more than he did. Every prayer would end with the phrase “with thanksgiving”. That sums him up – he was so thankful for life itself, his faith and his fervent love for his wife, Eva and his family. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. The family would like to sincerely thank Southern Health Home Care, the workers at Heritage Housing in Rosenort as well as the doctors and nursing staff at the Morris Hospital and Altona Hospital for caring for Dad. Thanks also go out to Corey Wall at the Morris Funeral Home and Ward Parkinson for caring and helping us with Dad’s going away party. We also want to acknowledge our mother who showed so much love, grace and courage in taking care of Dad through his illness. See you on the other side, Dad. Memorial donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or Mennonite Disaster Service.
