Obituary of Gilbert Fillion

Gilbert passed away peacefully the morning of December 11, 2023 at the age of 83 at the Red River Valley Lodge in Morris. Gilbert was predeceased by his wife Roxanne (nee Coates), a son Pierre and parents Andre & Anne Marie. He will be remembered by his and Roxanne’s daughter and only child Giselle; Roxanne’s siblings - Maureen, Kevin, Blaine, Darryl & Trevor; his siblings - Bernard, Leon, Yolande, Edmond, Agnes, Roger, Philippe, Irene, Cheynena & Denise; his other children - Armand, Danette, Gilbert, Angelique & Suzanne; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gilbert loved going for coffee, music, animals, dancing, playing the spoons and harmonica, tinkering, inventing, working with wood and metal lathes and repairing all things mechanical. A special thank you to Dr. Robert (Bob) Manness and the wonderful nurses/personnel at the Red River Valley Lodge who worked continuously to provide Gilbert with the best of care. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Morris Funeral Home on December 20, 2023 at 2:00PM with interment to be held at a later date.
