waffle parties, amazing buns, spontaneous visits, warm hugs, tables loaded with food..more wonderful memories than space would allow. We always felt welcome whenever we visited, and loved having them visit us. I still remember the first time Aunt Kay let me 'control' her waffle making. OMGosh, such delgight and such pressure. She set a high standard, and I worried I wouldn't do the same job she always did. However, she gently instructed me, while I bantered back and forth with Sandra and Merelyn about who would get this treasured antique when Aunt Kay had tired of hosting. Years later Uncle Ben and Aunt Kay visited our home in St. Andrews and presented us with our very own waffle make, just like Aunt Kay's. Uncle Ben had found it at a farm auction and bought it for us. We still have and share memories of both of them every time we use it, toasting them both. We're sure we told them we loved them, but probably never enough. We will miss hearing Aunt Kay's gentle voice, as much as we miss hearing Uncle Ben's booming voice, but we are very grateful to have had them in our lives.
